Covenant friends join together from far and wide to bless the 2020 Covenant awards recipients as they sing a medley version of the beloved Naomi Shemer song “Al Kol Eleh.”
On Sunday October 18th the Covenant Foundation honored 2020 Award recipients Maxine Segal Handelman, Russel Neiss and Amanda Pogany, at the Foundation’s first-ever virtual celebration. In addition to the bestowal of the awards, the hour long program included original films about the Award recipients, performances by Richard Saudek, Alicia Jo Rabins, Oren Kaunfer, Natan Kuchar, Karina Zilberman and Israeli social musical initiative Koolulam, as well as greetings from Mr. Lester Crown and Mrs. Barbara Manilow Goodman, President of the Board of the Covenant Foundation.
On November 14, 2018, The Covenant Foundation and The Jewish Theological Seminary co-sponsored a symposium in memory of Dr. Jonathan S. Woocher. Titled “Accessing Jewish Wisdom,” the symposium featured Tippett, Founder of the On Being Project and host of On Being, in conversation with Dr. Arnold M. Eisen, Chancellor of JTS, and was followed by a Q&A from educators in the audience. Covenant Award recipient Peninnah Schram asked the first question, and both her question and Tippett’s answer are featured in this video.
