To create new methods for involvement that are non-institution-based but still provide enriching, in-depth learning experiences for young adults, in 2016, Moshe House (MH) piloted an initiative called Activate Local Learning, which supports MH residents who want to invest further in Jewish Learning and develop relationships with local educators, while providing a series of compelling and exciting programming for other Jewish 20-somethings in their community.

Activate Local Learning presents an ongoing opportunity as MH residents can choose to sign up at any time. Interested residents will apply through an online form for an Activate Local Learning micro-grant, which will be reviewed by Rabbi Brad, MH’s Director of Immersive Learning. Rabbi Brad will then work with the residents to address additional questions, fine-tune their application or provide suggestions to improve their proposed learning series. Once approved, the residents will receive a modest financial stipend to cover an honorarium for the local educator, materials and snacks for the series.
