Lynne Avadenka: How a Poem Begins

Now on display at the Yeshiva University Museum, How a Poem Begins, an exhibition by contemporary artist and Covenant Foundation grantee Lynne Avadenka, engages in a visual dialogue with the pre-state Israeli poet Rahel Bluwstein. Working in a range of media, Avadenka weaves together themes of Jewish culture, women’s creativity, and the combined power of word and image. The exhibition also incorporates archival material from the collection of the YUM, providing historical context for the life of the poet Rahel.
